Google notified advertisers in Canada they’re charging a 2.5% surcharge on high of all the things for purchasing adverts on Google. That is on high of many of those advertisers losing the credit card payment option, which was nearly as good as money for a lot of of them.
These surcharges for some international advertisers will not be new, however they’re new to Canadian advertisers.
Google calls them a “Jurisdiction-specific surcharges,” which is a made up title by Google, which Google describes as:
